Going Home in China | The Life I Built as a Single Mom

Come home with me to Zigong, Sichuan, and visit the apartment I worked hard to buy after my divorce. I’m Amy, a 44-year-old single mom living in Chengdu. My son is enjoying university life, and I’m taking half a day off to head home early for the Mid-Autumn Festival, carrying mooncakes for my parents. Join me on the metro and high-speed train, with a few ice creams and grilled sausages along the way. Back at my apartment, I’ll share a little of my story: raising my son, working in property sales, and paying off my mortgage. I’m grateful to my parents, whose help with childcare let me focus on work. Then we’ll explore the neighborhood shops and local market, have dinner with my family, and wander through the evening streets.
