英國駐港副總領事 Sarah Robinson 專訪｜UK life for Hongkongers - political prisoners too?

During a visit to Manchester, Sarah Robinson, the British Deputy Consul General in Hong Kong, met Hongkongers who had left for political reasons. They no longer felt safe in Hong Kong and felt unable to return. What about those imprisoned in Hong Kong for political activities? Are they still welcome to rebuild their lives in Britain? Green Bean Media asks about BNO visa refusals due to political convictions, the UK’s efforts for Jimmy Lai and concerns about transnational repression. Sarah also reflects on growing caution in the way people speak and engage with the consulate following the National Security Law. In Manchester, she found a supportive Hong Kong community, with Hongkongers starting businesses and importing Hong Kong products, creating opportunities for both economies. Alongside the serious questions, meet the lighter side of a diplomat who speaks Cantonese but not Mandarin. From language lessons to dim sum and mahjong, join Sarah for diplomacy with a smile. 節目分段｜Chapters 00:00 認識樂秀慧：學廣東話的兩年｜Meet Sarah: 2 years learning Cantonese 02:11 《國安法》後，港人與她交流更謹慎｜More cautious conversations after the National Security Law 05:13 樂秀慧的香港美食推介｜Sarah’s Hong Kong food picks 06:47 曼城港人近況：生活、生意與跨國鎮壓憂慮｜Hongkongers in Manchester: Life, business & safety concerns 11:53 黎智英案：英國做了甚麼？｜Jimmy Lai: What has the UK done? ｜BNO visa refusals: Do political convictions matter?
