Twelve people have walked on the Moon. Not one of them stayed until dark. A single night on the Moon lasts about two weeks: no sunlight, no solar power, and the ground drops below minus 200 °F within hours. So we sent BOLT-3, a 38 kg test robot, to spend one full day and one full night there. Meanwhile, a real Japanese lander, SLIM, came down in January 2024 standing on its nose, with its solar panels facing the wrong way. It was never meant to survive a single lunar night. Did it ever wake up? Subscribe so BOLT never has to test alone. Which would BOLT survive longer: one night on the Moon, or one night on top of Mount Everest? Tell us in the comments. Next test: the top of Mount Everest.
