Geely just paid €221 million for a third of Ford's Valencia factory. Stellantis has offered Madrid to Leapmotor and Rennes to Dongfeng. And in June, Nissan signed a deal to study building cars for China's Chery at Sunderland, the biggest car factory in Britain. The factories are filling up. But is a Chinese car from Sunderland built in Britain, or made in Britain? We go through the filings, the grant rules, the warranty terms and the used prices to show what that difference means for UK buyers. In this video: Why Chinese carmakers want Europe's idle factories, and how they get past the EU tariff wall What Geely's Hong Kong stock exchange filing reveals about the Ford Valencia deal Sunderland's real numbers: 273,174 cars built in 2025 vs 507,430 in 2016 How the £3,750 Electric Car Grant scores a car, and why battery cells decide 70% of it Warranties, parts, dealers and used values for Omoda and Jaecoo in the UK How Chery started in an abandoned brick factory with a used Ford engine line from Britain Five checks to make before you buy, lease or buy used The 2027 rules of origin test a Sunderland-built Chery would face Own a Jaecoo 7, an Omoda 5, a Chery Tiggo or a Sunderland-built Nissan? Tell me in the comments what owning it has been like: servicing, repairs and any warranty claims. If any figure, price or date in this video is wrong, comment with your source and I'll correct it in the pinned comment. This video is not advice to buy or avoid any car. Check the GOV.UK grant list and the warranty terms before you sign. Subscribe to Road Aspect for factories, tariffs and prices, explained. #ChineseCars #NissanSunderland #Jaecoo7
