In September 2026, Britain registered 10,814 Jaecoo 7s, more than any other car on sale. Land Rover's entire range managed 9,004. The papers call it the "Temu Range Rover". It costs around £30,000, about £15,000 less than the cheapest Evoque, and the company behind it already has deals with both JLR and Nissan.
This is the full story in numbers: why Chery left Russia and came to Britain, why the UK charges a 10% tariff when the US charges about 100%, what the Sunderland memorandum means, and what the reliability survey says about the car itself.
Would you pay more for a new car if a tariff kept British factories selling into Europe? Tell me in the comments.
