On 28 September, Sheikh Hasina's birthday, her London lawyers at Matrix Chambers announced that she has filed a complaint with the Inter-Parliamentary Union's Committee on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians in Geneva. The complaint calls her trial "politically motivated and manifestly unfair", says more than 100 former Awami League MPs have been held for over two years without trial, and asks for the ban on the Awami League to be lifted and for free, fair and all-inclusive elections. Its sharpest line: the ban "calls into question the legitimacy of any election in which the Awami League is unable to participate." The very next day, four people from the government said four different things. The Foreign State Minister said she has no chance of returning and her politics is over. The PM's information adviser said "we want her back" from India. A state minister spoke of a "conspiracy" to bring her back. And another state minister said the people want her death sentence carried out.
