Groove 3 Fast - Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials 1.0

Keeping the momentum going with Groove 3 Fast, the next track in Tommy Igoe's Groove Essentials 1.0 play-along book. This chart literally just says "Play 32 bars" and repeat four times, then end on a "1." First time through it's with the full band, second time the guitar joins, third time it's just drums and bass, fourth time full band again. The dynamic markings are f for the first two, mp for the third time with just bass and drums, and then again f with the full band. I used both Variation A and the main groove. I added some hi-hat barks and ghosting as it felt appropriate to me. I went with a cross-rim stick backbeat during the bass and drums breakdown. The drum set I am playing is a 1967 Ludwig Super Classic 13/16/22. Snare drum is a Ludwig LM402 (14x6.5). 13" Zildjian K Hats, 20" Paiste Giant Beat on my left, 22" Sabian Legacy Ride on my right. I used five microphones. Two Warm Audio WA251s as Glyn Johns style overheads, a Shure Beta 52a just inside the BD port hole, a Neumann TLM102 about 1.5 feet centered in front of the BD resonant head, and a Shure SM7B on the snare drum. As always, thanks for watching! #grooveessentials #tommyigoe #drums #drummer #drummer #drumeo #drumming #drumlessons #drumteacher #drumtechnique #schlagzeugschule #schlagzeug #schlagzeuglernenanfänger #learndrumming #learndrums #music
