55. Spacetime - How scale partitions realities memory and computation.

If energy is the flow of time and condensed matter realities memory, then scale sets the hierarchy of change and memory persistence. At the vast scales of galaxies change is measured in millions and billions of years. As we come down to our own scale on the surface of this planet, changes and interactions are measured in hours minutes and seconds. At the atomic scale things speed up allowing electric circuits to operate at megahertz and gigahertz. Moving down to the subatomic scale things get orders of magnitude faster still. Idealising these concepts, the smaller we get the more rapid the information exchange and more ephemeral the structures. The larger the slower the information flows and the more permanent the structures. Using the framing of systems dynamics and cybernetics this provides a unique perspective on reality.
