Escape is within our reach... For the first time since Resident Evil 4 Remake’s release week, I’m heading back to rural Spain and stepping into the boots of Leon S. Kennedy once again. It’s been over three years since I last experienced this incredible remake from start to finish — after completing it multiple times during release week — so this runthrough has been all about rediscovering one of the finest Resident Evil games of the modern era. No speedrunning. No rushing. Just taking my time, soaking up the atmosphere, revisiting the story... and probably getting caught out by an enemy once or twice. But in our finale, Leon S. Kennedy faces the final stretch of his mission — and getting Ashley home may demand everything he has left. Ashley was captured during the previous chapter. Again. Now, Leon must rescue her for the third and final time — but this time, she isn’t waiting inside an empty church. She has been taken to The Island, a nightmare fortress hiding a Stronghold, sinister laboratories, and The Sanctuary itself: the heart of Saddler’s operation. And the forces standing between Leon and freedom have never been more dangerous. After confronting the shadow of Leon’s past, we'll fight our way through the Stronghold, survive the horrors of the lab, and make one final, brutal push towards The Sanctuary. Then, when there is nowhere left to run, it all comes down to one final battle with Lord Saddler — and the chance to finally end this hellish nightmare. The monsters are more grotesque. The cultists are more relentless. The odds are collapsing around us, and every step towards escape seems to come at a cost. There is still a Merchant carrying a suspicious amount of weaponry beneath his coat — but Saddler is unlike anything we’ve faced before. A man and a monster. A prophet and a parasite. Possessed by power, driven by domination, and determined to remake the world in his image. But Leon has come too far to fail now. The mission is clear. The nightmare is ending.
