One Shot session recap for July 2, 2026
The party followed Salvorin’s instructions and entered the mysterious portal. Dunil naturally managed to steal an orb on the way through.
When faced with branching passages, Berrin repeatedly entrusted the party’s fate to a coin flip—which had an uncanny preference for sending everyone left.
A strange talking statue chomped Echo’s hand when he reached for a glittering object in its mouth. Echo eventually jammed the jaws open with a spike and retrieved a garnet, which Barnaby proudly displayed on his vest.
Dunil, Rolen, and Weslock stumbled upon an earth golem and promptly fled, sounding the alarm and bringing the entire party into the fight.
Barnaby repeatedly assaulted the golem with the campaign’s most fearsome weapon: the Heckler’s Bell, beginning a proud tradition of irritating everything the party fought.
After being blasted, stabbed, shot, hammered, magically rotted, and thoroughly heckled, the golem was finally sliced in half by Rolen.
Echo discovered a sword protruding from the golem’s back. Berrin translated the Gnomish inscription on the blade: “Longtooth.”
The party discovered enormous piles of bat guano, whereupon Echo immediately attempted to push Rolen into them.
Motif was sent downstream as a test subject before the party rigged a grappling-hook crossing and reached a beach on the far side.
Echo, Motif, and Berrin discovered a comfortable parlor filled with food and well-dressed strangers inviting them to stay and tell stories. Because nothing suspicious ever happens in mysterious underground parlors.
Echo saw through the deception, discovering that at least one of their charming hosts was actually a skeleton. His hammer quickly brought the entire illusion crashing down.
A massive creature dropped from the ceiling and attacked. It then created a magical barrier, separating part of the party from Echo and Berrin.
Rolen and Dunil chipped away at the barrier until Weslock’s summoned earth elemental smashed through it, allowing everyone to rejoin the battle.
Berrin unleashed Spirit Guardians, Echo and Motif hammered away, Rolen attacked relentlessly, Dunil fired her crossbow, and Barnaby continued faithfully ringing the Heckler’s Bell.
Weslock unleashed a devastating Witch Bolt, finally killing the Kashem and ending the battle.
