Jim Lowe - Hootenanny Granny (BSN Stereo Mix)

Jim Lowe, of course, was most famous for his 1956 #1 song “The Green Door.” “Hootenanny Granny” was his last Billboard chart record, making #103 after being released in August, 1963. It was a folk-novelty that mentioned the names of many of the folk hits of the day. It reached #131 on Cashbox and #91 on Music Vendor. It didn’t really chart on any local stations here in the U.S. (It “bubbled under” in several places). But it was a hit in New Zealand, where it made top-10 on radio station 2ZC. It also reached top-30 in Sydney, Australia. Go figure.
