🎧 아이유님의 겨울잠을 들으면서 떠난 사람도 남겨진 사람의 계절을 모두 알고 있다면 어떤 말을 해주고 싶을까 생각했습니다. 처음에는 반려견을 떠올리며 쓰기 시작한 노래였습니다. 하지만 가사를 써 내려가다 보니 꼭 반려동물을 떠나보낸 사람에게만 해당하는 이야기는 아니라고 느꼈어요. 사랑했던 누군가를 잃고 여전히 그리워하는 사람이라면 누구나 한 번쯤 비슷한 생각을 하지 않을까 싶었습니다. 더 잘해줄걸. 조금 더 함께 있을걸. 그때 왜 그러지 못했을까. 김나영님의 봄 내음보다 너를 답가에서는 떠난 존재가 남겨진 사람에게 나 없이도 잘 지내달라고 말하는 마음을 담았다면 이번에는 조금 다른 말을 전하고 싶었습니다. 다 알고 있으니까 이제는 스스로를 너무 탓하지 않았으면 좋겠다고. 함께했던 시간도, 미처 하지 못한 말도, 여전히 그리워하는 마음도 이미 알고 있을 거라고. 그리고 다음 계절이 찾아왔을 때 죄책감 때문에 그 계절까지 놓치지는 않았으면 좋겠다는 마음으로 만든 답가입니다. 🎧 While listening to IU’s Winter Sleep, I wondered what someone who had already left might want to say if they could see every season the person left behind was going through. I first began writing this song while thinking about a beloved pet. But as I continued, I realized that the story wasn’t only about losing a pet. It could be for anyone who has lost someone they loved and still misses them. After losing someone, it’s easy to keep thinking about everything we wish we had done differently. I should have done more. I should have stayed a little longer. Why couldn’t I have done that then? With my reply to Kim Na Young’s Spring Scent More Than You, I wanted the one who had left to say, I hope you’ll be okay without me. This time, I wanted to say something different. They already know. So please don’t blame yourself anymore. They know how much you loved them. They know about the things you never got to say. They know that you still miss them.
