Slow English podcast for A2–B1 learners. Ben borrows his sister Anna's car and fills a gas tank alone for the first time. The pump asks for his zip code, his car wash plans and his feelings about receipts before it gives him any gas, a stranger tells him which side his cap is on, and later a small white paper under his wiper convinces him he has a parking ticket. Then Mia takes her roommate Dana's car to turn off a tire warning light. The first air pump is out of order, the second one needs quarters she does not have, and the cashier tells her air is free with any purchase. She buys a ninety-cent banana, fills all four tires to thirty-two, and Dana tells everyone at work about the banana. Two easy-going stories about doing something for the first time, asking small questions out loud, and finding out the machine is not the hard part. The conversation is spoken slowly and clearly, with full on-screen subtitles so you can read and listen together. You can play this episode while driving, cooking, commuting, or resting.
