Slow English podcast for A2–B1 learners. Ben stops at his corner store for milk on a rainy evening after a long day. Delivery boxes are sitting here and there in the one narrow aisle, his card is declined at the register, and he tells the owner that her machine, her fridge door and her whole store are out of order. At home he opens his mail and finds a new bank card, with a letter saying the old one expired. Then Mia walks to her corner store for milk and finds a handwritten sign: the freezer is out of order, ice cream is one dollar. She carries five tubs against her chest, knocks over a paper towel display, and goes back for a sixth. Her roommate Dana pulls up with six more tubs from the same store, the elevator is out of order too, and the milk never makes it home. Two easy-going stories about small shops, bad moods, and prices that are too good to walk past. The conversation is spoken slowly and clearly, with full on-screen subtitles so you can read and listen together. You can play this episode while driving, cooking, commuting, or resting.
