Romans 8:18 - 39 What We Have in Christ

Romans chapter 8 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. It marks a transition of sorts in this letter. In the previous chapters Paul took time to build a solid foundation for the gospel. Paul has shared that everyone in the world, both Jew or Gentile, needs to know Christ as Savior. In chapter 8, Paul moves from speaking about our need for Christ and begins to speak about what it means to live for Christ. Last week, as we looked at the first half of Romans 8, we noted that Paul describes who we are in Christ. We are free from condemnation for our sin. We are filled with the Spirit to be led by the Spirt. And we are a part of God’s family. Today we’ll look at the rest of chapter 8 in a message entitled, “What We Have in Christ.” The first topic to consider is the hope we have. Because in Christ, we have the hope of glory.
