Trains at the Bedford Road, Ringwood Level Crossing - Metro Trains Melbourne

In this video we visit the Bedford Road level crossing in Ringwood, situated along the Belgrave Line just after the junction where the Belgrave Line splits from the Lilydale Line. The level crossing is one of the few remaining along the Belgrave Line, and one of the last in Melbourne to feature mechanical Westinghouse hybrid bells. Here at this level crossing we see some X'trapolis 100 EMU's pass through. This level crossing is on the list to be grade separated by 2025, and will be removed by lowering the rail line into a trench. When completed it will mean that the Belgrave Line will only have two remaining level crossings left at Alpine Street in Ferntree Gullly, and Railway Avenue in Upper Ferntree Gully.
