A WEEK LATER, INFRASTRUCTURE DEPARTMENT STILL HAS QUESTIONS TO ANSWER A week after it first sat down to answer for the County's roads and drainage budgets, the infrastructure department is back before the Implementation Committee today, a sign of just how much ground is still being covered. Eng. Michael Kamau, CECM for Infrastructure, continues to account for the department's FY 2025/26 and 2026/27 budget implementation, with the Committee, chaired by Hon. John Macharia, pressing for a project-by-project breakdown of what was budgeted, what has been spent, and what is actually on the ground to show for it. The session draws its authority from Standing Order 31(3), which empowers the Assembly to hold County departments accountable for budget implementation.
