Your client on medical weight loss is going to lose weight. The real questions are what they lose, and what they keep when the prescription ends. 11% of U.S. adults now take a GLP-1 for weight loss, up from 3% two years ago (Gallup). In the big trials, between a quarter and nearly 4 in 10 pounds that came off was lean mass, not fat. In one major trial, about two-thirds of the loss came back within a year of stopping. The scale is handled. Everything around it is the coach's job. In this episode: Why "how much did you lose?" is the wrong question, and what to track instead Protein and resistance training: the two habits to build from week one 126,553 people on the same medication: the ones who stayed engaged with coaching lost about 23% vs about 17.5% The habits that have to hold after the prescription ends, and why you plan that exit on day one A real example: the medical weight loss program my gyms launched last week, how we built it from Welcome Week to month seven, and the plan to grow it For coaches whose clients are starting medical weight loss or asking about it, who want to stay the person those clients rely on. Tomorrow, Wed Oct 14 at 12 PM CT: live with Josh Ponton of ASHER Health on medical weight loss for coaches. Josh answers the question every coach asks first: is this legal for me?
