Morning jazz house for the hour the white town wakes up, the old lanes of Ostuni, shutters swinging open and the Adriatic at the end of the street. The sun hasn't reached down into the lanes yet. The steps are still in cool blue shade, bougainvillea hangs over the walls, and high up a green shutter is thrown open to the light. Soft keys, brushed drums and a warm, unhurried bass start slow at 97 and climb gently to 108 as the light works its way down the whitewash, until the whole town is bright and the sea is shining at the bottom of the hill.
