Two men went up to the temple to pray. Jesus said only one went home right with God.

Today's reading (Day 275): Luke 17–18 and Psalm 119:33-64. In this reading: Ten lepers cry out for mercy, and only one comes back to say thank you The kingdom of God is already among them A widow refuses to give up on a judge The Pharisee and the tax collector at the temple Jesus welcomes the little children A rich ruler walks away sad A blind beggar near Jericho calls out for mercy Psalm 119: asking God to teach us and turn our eyes from worthless things Did you know? The Law of Moses only required fasting once a year, on the Day of Atonement. The Pharisees' "twice a week" went far beyond what God asked, and it still wasn't the point. Question for you: When you pray, do you come with a résumé or with an honest word for mercy? Tell me in the comments. Tomorrow: Day 276 — Luke 19–20 and Psalm 119:65-96. Like, subscribe, and share this with someone who needs it today. I will see you in the Word tomorrow. #DailyBreadChronicles #BibleReading #Luke18 #DailyBibleReading #Jesus
