Daniel’s 70 Weeks: Six Promises for Israel and Jerusalem | Daniel 9:24 In this episode of The Everyday Evangelist Show, sponsored by Junior Tate Ministries, we continue our study of Daniel Chapter 9 and begin a detailed look at one of the most important prophecies in Scripture: Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy. Our study begins with Daniel 9:24 and the words Gabriel gave to Daniel: “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city.” Keeping those words in their biblical context is essential. Daniel had been praying for his people, Israel, and for Jerusalem, and Gabriel’s answer directly addresses those concerns. To make reconciliation for iniquity 4. To bring in everlasting righteousness 5. To seal up the vision and prophecy 6. To anoint the most Holy I explain why I believe reconciliation for iniquity was accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, while the complete fulfillment of the other promises remains future. Christ paid the penalty for sin once and for all, but sin itself has not yet been brought to its appointed end. We also look at Israel’s future, the return and reign of Jesus Christ, the future fulfillment of biblical prophecy, and what Daniel’s prophecy tells us about God’s continuing purpose for Israel and Jerusalem. We discuss the Most Holy, the future sanctuary described by Ezekiel, and why I believe Daniel’s prophecy ultimately points forward to the return and kingdom of Christ. Most importantly, this study points us back to Jesus Christ. The sacrifice for sin has been made, salvation is available through Him, and the Gospel is still being proclaimed.
