Mt. Whitney Mountaineer's Route and Mt. Russell at Sunrise - 2 California 14ers

Rachel, Noah, and Zach embark on an adventure that will take them through the beautiful green pines and towering granite in the Inyo National Forest at Whitney Portal, CA. Beginning at Whitney Portal Campground, the group aims to take the North Fork of Lone Pine Creek Trail to summit Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer's Route. The next morning, Zach aims to summit Mt. Russell via the east ridge at sunrise. You can expect to gain a close-up view of the Mountaineer's Route and East Ridge of Mt. Russell in summer conditions. Please note that permits are required to hike in the Whitney Zone during quota season. You can climb the Mountaineer's Route and Mt. Russell with a North Fork of Lone Pine Creek permit if you are camping overnight.
