Test 13 of our IELTS-style Listening series, new for 2026 and written by BayRen in the exam's format. In Part 1, a man phones a rowing club to ask about its courses for beginners. In Part 2, a guide briefs a group before they take a cable car up a mountain. In Part 3, two psychology students plan an experiment on whether background noise changes how many words people remember. In Part 4, a lecturer explains how the ancient Maya grew food and stored water for their cities. There are 40 questions, played at real exam timing; the answer key, a band guide and an explanation for each answer follow at the end. Nothing here is taken from a Cambridge book, so the whole test is new to you. How to use it Have a pen and paper ready, and write your answers as you listen. Play each part straight through: the real exam never pauses. Mark your answers only at the end, then check your band and read the explanations.
