Ten IELTS Speaking Part 1 questions on everyday life, each answered twice: a Band 7 answer and a Band 9 answer, in the same voice, so the only difference is the English. Lunch breaks, snacks, meeting new people, second-hand things, finding your way, old photos, birthdays, reading a book twice, getting caught in the rain, and long bus or train journeys. After each pair, a teacher shows the one change that lifts the answer to Band 9, with the key phrases picked out on screen. How to practise with this video 1. Pause after each question and give your own answer out loud, in two or three sentences. 2. Listen to the Band 7 answer, then the Band 9 one: which is yours closer to? 3. Each question teaches one change (below). Answer the question again and use it. 4. Shadow one Band 9 answer a day: play a sentence, pause, and say it back at the same pace. Lunch breaks (say what something is for: so that, not only because) 2. Snacks (an amount you can picture, not 'a lot') 3. Meeting new people (show how a feeling changes: at first, after a while, once) 4. Second-hand things (the passive for talking about things) 5. Finding your way (a short story with mixed tenses: was doing, had been doing) 6. Photos (don't repeat the topic word: find two or three others) 7. Birthdays (an honest weakness, then what you do about it) 8. Reading (the present perfect for experience up to now) 9. Rain (one strong word or phrase instead of very) 10. Public transport (finish on a point, not on 'that's it') Practise IELTS Speaking online: https://speaking.bayrenedu.com Message us on WhatsApp: 01317749265 Follow BayRen: Facebook:   / bayrenedu   TikTok:   / bayren_education   Instagram:   / bayrenedu   These are original practice questions and answers written by BayRen in the IELTS format.
