I handed my camera to a beginner who had never filmed an RC jet before. Could he keep up with my Magic Dragon Huracan turbine jet? 🐉 This is the raw, uncut footage, so you can judge for yourself. Why filming RC planes is harder than it looks: Seen from the ground, a model airplane is a small target that's moving fast and changing direction constantly. A turbine jet can go from a slow flyby to more than 150 mph in seconds, and a few hundred feet out it's just a dot in the sky. Autofocus loves to lock onto the clouds or the trees instead of the plane. If you zoom in, every shake of your hands gets magnified. If you zoom out, the jet disappears. And every time the pilot banks hard, you have to guess where it's going next. What it takes to get the shot: 🎥 Anticipation. Watch the pilot's pattern and move the camera to where the jet is going, not where it is. 🎥 Smooth panning. Plant your feet, turn from your hips, and follow through like a golf swing. 🎥 The right settings. Use continuous autofocus, a fast shutter, and a moderate zoom. Don't max it out. 🎥 Both eyes open. Track with one eye on the screen and the other on the sky, so you can find the jet again when you lose it. 🎥 Practice. Every pro started with shaky footage and blurry dots. So how did my rookie cameraman do? Watch it uncut and tell me in the comments. 👇 🙌 Big thanks to Jose for stepping up behind the lens! 👍 Like, subscribe, and hit the bell for more turbine jet action. If you feel it, chase it. — RC Chaser #RCJet #TurbineJet #RCAirplane #MagicDragon #Huracan #RCFilming #BeginnerFilmmaker #Uncut #RCChaser
