Absolutely Fantastic Gala | Severn Valley Railway 2026 Spring Diesel Festival (15/5/26)

Hello everyone and welcome back to another video and to a new heritage railway video and you join me at one of my favourite heritage railways in the country, the Severn Valley Railway, for their 2026 Spring Diesel Festival. This video was filmed on Friday 15th May 2026 between 09:22 - 18:15 and the event was running from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th. An intensive timetable was on offer with many trains running up and down the 16 miles of track between Kidderminster and Bridgenorth, along with some smaller ‘local’ services that were shuttling mostly between Kidderminster and Arley but also a few that were only going between Kidderminster and Bewdley. I started the day at Kidderminster before making my way up the line towards Bridgnorth however instead of going all the way to Bridgnorth, I stopped at Eardington Bank before heading back down the line to Arley where I finished. There are so many fantastic locations trackside for filming and ther were many more I had noted down that I didn’t going to because there are that many. I think my two favourite locations were Arley and Hampton Load. If you were to picture a small countryside station in the 1940s/50s then these are exactly what you would picture. The weather made if even better as I spent a good amount of time just sitting on the platforms, enjoying the sun and listening to the birds singing.
