For a lot of kids in the 1980s, the first supercar they ever loved was on a wall. Almost none of them ever saw a Lamborghini Countach in real life: fewer than two thousand were built, and the company behind it went bankrupt and changed owners again and again. This is the story of the Countach's three lives: the prototype that was crashed into a wall on purpose, the company that kept falling apart around it, and the image that made it immortal. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Almost nobody saw one 00:51 The tractor maker 02:15 Contacc! 03:35 Life one: the prototype 04:12 Life two: the company 05:58 Life three: the image 08:31 The picture that never crashed 09:45 Next: Dodge Charger 📸 Image credits (Wikimedia Commons) Lamborghini Countach photos: MrWalkr, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Alexander Migl, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Matti Blume, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Valder137, CC BY 2.0 · Prova MO, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Y.Leclercq, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Alexander-93, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Tokumeigakarinoaoshima, CC0 Lamborghini Miura: Chelsea Jay, CC BY-SA 4.0 · Alexander-93, CC BY-SA 4.0 Ferruccio Lamborghini: unknown author, public domain Sant'Agata Bolognese: Fabrizio Pivari, CC BY-SA 4.0 Alfa Romeo Carabo: unknown photographer, public domain Ferrari Testarossa: Alexander Migl, CC BY-SA 4.0 Lamborghini Diablo: Matti Blume, CC BY-SA 4.0 Cizeta V16T: Craig Howell, CC BY 2.0 Monaco: Interceptor73, CC BY 2.0 Nevada Highway 50: Amine Abassir, CC BY-SA 4.0 Lee Iacocca: The Cincinnati Enquirer, public domain Dodge Charger: Vauxford, CC BY-SA 4.0 Full links: see the pinned comment.
