Dia Mirza Diwali Controversy:  पटाखे न जलाने की अपील, BMC ने क्यों हटाया वीडियो?

Actor Dia Mirza's video appealing to people to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali has sparked a political controversy in Mumbai. The video was part of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's pollution-free Diwali campaign amid concerns over rising air pollution. Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam objected to Dia Mirza's participation, saying people do not need lessons on how to celebrate Diwali. Following his objection, the BMC removed the video from its social media platforms, while videos featuring Madhuri Dixit and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane remained available. The incident has triggered a debate over pollution, religious traditions and the role of celebrities in public awareness campaigns. The copyright ownership in the video rests with India Today Group.
