Passengers at European airports react after wave of bomb threats

There are growing security scares in the skies of Europe amid a slew of bomb threats aimed at commercial flights – for the second time in just one week. Though the threats forced many to make unplanned or escorted landings, as of this writing, none of the threats immediately proved to be genuine. Weighing in on the matter Thursday, head of aviation security group Dyami Eric Schouten said that while “this is happening in the Europe of now, and that we will have to get used to it for the upcoming years… passengers do not have to be afraid.” Why? Dyami put it down to the airlines being cautious. While no country has been blamed for the threats, they come as European officials accuse Russia and Iran of carrying out so-called hybrid attacks and sabotage campaigns across the region.
