इटली मधील व्हेनिस. एक जादूमय नगरी. म्हणाल तर अद्भुत नगरी. मात्र बाहेरून जितकी सुंदर त्यापेक्षाही जास्त क्लेश तिला आतून. आपल्याकडे कसं बालपणी पुस्तकात आटपाट नगर म्हणून गोष्टीला सुरुवात झाली की त्या काल्पनिक वातावरणात रममाण होऊन जायचं. इथल्या मुलांना अशी कल्पना करण्याची गरजच नाही आहे. ही कल्पवित वाटणारी नगरी साक्षात त्यांच्यासमोर उभी आहे. व्हेनिस म्हणजे छान असे वाटणाऱ्या नदीच्या काठी वसलेले नुसते गाव नसून पाण्याने संपूर्ण वेढून त्यातील रस्त्यांवर आपले जाळे पसरवलेले नगर आहे. आणि ते सुद्धा समुद्राच्या पाण्याने. खरोखर हे शहर जर प्रत्यक्षात अस्तित्वात नसतं तर त्यासारखे काल्पनिक चित्रपट निघाले असते. या अख्या शहरात बसायला एकही बाकडा नाही व पायऱ्यांवर बसायला बंदी आहे. नाल्याच्या कट्ट्यावर तुम्ही रेलू शकता मात्र तिथे रेल्वे घरून काही आणलेलं किंवा दुकानात विकत घेऊन खायला बंदी आहे. तुम्ही सहसा पाहिला असेल की मी व्हिडिओमध्ये नेहमी आईशी बोलतो. हा व्हिडिओ मात्र मी खास तुमच्यासाठी चित्रित केला आहे. व्हेनिस ला यायच्या आधीच मी ठरवलं होतं की या ठिकाणी सकाळपासून संध्याकाळपर्यंत राहून जास्तीत जास्त चित्रण करायचं. आपल्यापैकी अनेक माझ्यासारखेच मध्यमवर्गीय असणार. कुटुंब आणि कामाची ओढाताण सांभाळण्यातच आयुष्य जातं मग व्हेनिस सारख्या ठिकाणी फिरणं दूरच. माझ्या नशिबाने ही जागा आम्हाला जवळ असल्यामुळे पाहता आली. आणि म्हणून त्याचा लाभ आपणास जास्तीत जास्त व्हावा म्हणून मी आज जागेचं प्रत्येक कोपऱ्यातून चित्रण केलं आहे अगदी मनसोक्त पहा.
