3 Days in KYOTO, JAPAN | Day 1: Nishiki Market, Gion & a Maiko Encounter

Our first day in Kyoto, Japan 🇯🇵 takes us from the Shinkansen to the traditional streets of Gion. After arriving in Kyoto, we try matcha ice cream for the first time, explore Nishiki Market and discover Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine, where we find the unusual Karakuri Mikuji — a mechanical lion that delivers an omikuji fortune. Later, we walk through Gion and unexpectedly encounter a woman who appeared to be a Maiko in traditional dress.
