Show your face, for the garden and orchard are my heart's desire; Open your lips, for abundance of sugar is my heart's desire. O Sun of beauty! Step out from behind the cloud, For that radiant, shining face is my heart's desire. Yesterday the Sheikh was circling the city with a lamp, saying: "I am weary of beasts and demons, a human is my heart's desire!" They said, "He cannot be found, we have searched long..." He replied, "That very one who cannot be found... is my heart's desire!" I am fed up with these weak-spirited companions, The Lion of God and Rustam of the legends is my heart's desire. My soul has grown weary of Pharaoh and his tyranny, That light from the face of Moses son of Imran is my heart's desire. A wine goblet in one hand, and the Beloved’s lock of hair in the other! A dance like this in the middle of the field is my heart's desire! They said, "He cannot be found, we have searched long..." He replied, "That very one who cannot be found... is my heart's desire!" Show your face, O Shams, pride of Tabriz! I am the Hoopoe, the presence of Solomon is my heart's desire!
