Dolly Sees KAKABEKA FALLS for the First Time! | Driving to Alaska Ep. 2

Day 2 of our Canada to Alaska & Arctic Ocean road trip takes us deeper into Northern Ontario — from Wawa to Aaron Provincial Park, with one unforgettable stop at Kakabeka Falls - The Niagara Falls of the North! After spending our first night on the road in Wawa, Ontario, we wake up and continue west on our massive journey toward Alaska and eventually the Arctic Ocean. And Day 2 turned out to be beautiful. Our route takes us through the spectacular landscapes surrounding Lake Superior, including a stop at Old Woman Bay, before continuing toward Thunder Bay and Kakabeka Falls. We also make another fuel stop along the way at a First Nations gas station, where we find cheaper gas — something that certainly helps when you're towing a trailer thousands of kilometres across Canada! 😄 But the highlight of today's journey was Kakabeka Falls. We made a long stop there, freshened up and took showers before I decided to give Dolly a little surprise. She had never seen Kakabeka Falls before. As we walked toward the viewing area, I asked her to keep looking down and not look at the falls until we reached the viewpoint. Then came the moment... “Okay Dolly — now look!” Her reaction was priceless. Seeing this incredible waterfall for the first time completely stunned her, and sharing moments like this is exactly why we love travelling together. After enjoying Kakabeka Falls, it was time to get back on the road because we still had a long way to go. Eventually, we reached Aaron Provincial Park, where we decided that after two long days of driving, we deserved a comfortable campsite. About $50 CAD got us a nice electric site for the night. We set up our little homemade trailer, prepared dinner and enjoyed a wonderful meal together with Dolly and Umer. After the noisy truck stop in Wawa the previous night, this was exactly what we needed: A quiet and peaceful night surrounded by nature. And with that, Day 2 of our 36-day Alaska & Arctic Ocean Expedition came to an end.
