A little note before we get into it: this is week two of my tiny YouTube experiment, and it almost didn't come together! I mention briefly in the video that I had to take my cat to the emergency vet, but what I don’t really get into is that he’s pretty much the glue that holds our little family together. That's a lot of pressure on 10 pounds of kitten, and I think it finally became too much for him... Joking. He had a bad reaction to antibiotics AND in his weaken state, hurt himself jumping down from the counter. So needless to say he’s been unwell, and everything else understandably took a back seat for a bit. The very good news is that he’s finally on the mend and starting to feel much more like himself. ❤️ At one point, I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to get a video out this week. Normally, when life throws a bump in the road like this at me, anything that feels unimportant is the first thing to go. But this didn’t feel unimportant. I’m genuinely enjoying making these videos, and the fact that this one is going live feels like a pretty good testament to that! And funny enough, I used basically every trick in this video to get it finished anyway! — Sometimes I wake up ready to be a functioning, productive member of society. And sometimes my motivation is simply no where to be found. These are five stupidly simple things I use all the time to get myself moving when lack of motivation, perfectionism or plain old overwhelm are getting in the way. We’re talking the 5-minute rule, Pomodoro (but make it ASMR), shamelessly bribing myself with little treats, brain-dumping into AI and asking it to please make the decisions for me, and the 1% rule from Atomic Habits. If you have one of your own, PLEASE leave it in the comments. I am building an arsenal and I will happily steal yours. And if you found me organically: hi! 👋 This is only my second YouTube video. I’m currently treating this whole channel as a tiny experiment and I'd love for you to join the journey!
