What does it take to turn enterprise AI strategy into measurable business results?
For established companies, AI transformation requires more than deploying new technology. It demands disciplined data architecture, governance, organizational change, and a clear understanding of how AI creates business value.
In this conversation from the Digital Leadership Agenda 2027 conference, Shaun Braun, Chief Information & Technology Officer at Zimmer Biomet, and Dham Pathervellai, SVP & CTO at Ingram Micro, join moderator Meghna Sinha, Senior Industry Fellow at UC Irvine's Center for Digital Transformation, to explore how established enterprises are moving from AI experimentation to measurable outcomes.
Shaun outlines Zimmer Biomet's three-phase transformation strategy: building the foundations for responsible AI, transforming enterprise workflows, and ultimately reimagining the organization. He explains how cross-functional teams, AI governance, and finance-validated scorecards help connect technology investments to business results, including approximately $108 million in identified potential EBITDA impact for the following year—not all of which the company expects to realize.
Dham describes Ingram Micro's evolution from digital transformation to what he calls intelligent transformation. By combining data lake and data mesh architecture with an AI factory and intelligent agents, the company is using AI to uncover sales opportunities across its global distribution network. Dham reports that an AI-powered intelligent data assistant contributed $1 billion in additional top-line revenue in a single quarter.
The discussion examines why enterprises must build their own AI capabilities, embed technical expertise within business teams, and rethink employee incentives and organizational culture. It also explores the emergence of autonomous enterprises, where AI agents increasingly support business decisions and operations.
This panel offers a practical perspective on what AI transformation actually delivers—and the organizational discipline required to turn technological potential into sustained competitive advantage.
