Day 38 | "You Were Initially Like Them." An-Nisa

Day 38 of my 365-day Quran reading challenge. Verse 82 makes one of the boldest claims in this surah: "Do they not reflect on the Quran? Had it been from anyone other than God, they would have certainly found many inconsistencies." Not: believe because I say so. Examine. Look for contradictions. Then verse 83 — 1,400 years before social media: "When they hear news of security or fear, they publicize it." Check before you share. Verify before you amplify. Then verse 86 — in the middle of all the complexity: "When you are greeted, respond with a better greeting or at least similarly." Even in the hardest times — do not forget the small thing. Do not stop being human in your smallest interactions. And verse 94 — the verse that should stop all judgment: "You were initially like them — then God blessed you." Before whatever brought you to where you are, there was a time you were somewhere else.
