Room with a View. Black Cats Autumn Vintage Noir Jazz overlooking a Mountain Lake

Welcome to a wooden breakfast room on the shore of a mountain lake. Tall windows in dark wood frames look out over still water, where the hillsides and a small island of pines lie mirrored, and snow sits on the peaks beyond. Low sun comes in from the right and spreads gold across the far wall. On the left, a rust orange blanket hangs over an old armchair, next to a rough side table with a mug of coffee. On the right, a wooden table holds a bowl of berries, a croissant on a plate, a lit brass oil lamp and a stoneware jug of pine cones. The black cats wear matching dark green cable knit hats with pom poms. From the left: a small vintage keyboard, acoustic guitar, drums, sax, and upright bass. Early on, that blanket leaves the chair, lands on one pair of shoulders and ends up around two, and the music never stops. The tunes mostly move at an easy walking pace with a light swing. A few ease down and a few pick up, but nothing jumps out, and every track sits at about the same volume. Put it on while you clear your inbox, plan out a project, write, read, or linger over a second cup of coffee. It keeps you company and leaves the thinking to you. Business owners: you are welcome to play this set in your cafe, shop, bakery, bookstore, salon or waiting room. It goes well with fresh coffee and a table by the window. There is no wrong hour for this one. Morning, midday or late, the lake stays still and the band keeps going. If you are new here, this is what the black cats do: original instrumental jazz with no vocals, played somewhere new each time. Every tune in the list below has a timestamp, so you can jump straight to the one you like.
