Surrounded by dense rainforest, giant rocks, streams and rich biodiversity, Lankagama is one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful destinations for nature lovers and waterfall explorers. Among the best-known waterfalls in the Lankagama waterfall chain are: 💧 Brahmana Ella - approximately 17–31 m, depending on whether the measured section or the full waterfall is considered. Some sources identify the full fall as 31 m, while others record 17 m for the visible cascade. 💧 Thattu Ella - approximately 14 m. It is a multi-tiered cascade and is regarded as the second waterfall in the classic five-waterfall sequence created by the Hariyawa stream. 💧 Duwili Ella - approximately 23 m according to documented measurements. The waterfall is formed by a branch of the Hariyawa stream and is one of the most scenic falls in the area. 💧 Gal Oruwa Ella - approximately 30 m according to one documented measurement. The water plunges between large rock formations, creating the distinctive "rock boat" appearance from which its name is derived. 💧 Uran Watunu Ella. - approximately 20 m in the Lankagama five-waterfall descriptions. It is situated above Gal Oruwa Ella and forms part of the same Hariyawa stream system. The waterfalls are closely connected to the Hariyawa stream,which eventually joins the Gin Ganga, while the surrounding forest forms part of the incredibly rich lowland rainforest ecosystem of southern Sri Lanka.
