There’s a common belief that Muay Thai fighters shouldn’t use head movement because slipping or ducking could send you straight into a kick or knee.
But when you actually study great Muay Thai fighters, that’s not what you see.
Fighters have been slipping, pulling, ducking, leaning and swaying away from strikes for generations.
In this video, I break down some of the most useful—and forgotten—head movement techniques in Muay Thai, why they work, and most importantly, when they should actually be used.
We’ll also study fighters like Lerdsila, Samart and Superbon to see how elite fighters combine head movement with range, anticipation, counters and layered defense.
Want to actually train these techniques instead of just watching them?
