There is so much to learn from each of these gems of pianism, each is very different in its own way and aesthetics, showing three masters of the keyboard each doing their own unique thing. I could barely pick a single favorite between these three because for each individual moment of the work, I have a pianist that I feel plays it best, but if I had to pick between the 3 I'd pick Backhaus, a polished and spectacular performance, eccentric enough to feel like a completely undiluted flow of musical expression all while hearing hardly a hint of the immense technical difficulties presented.
