In this video, I will show you how to create a Home Folder and map a Home (H:) Drive for domain users in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC).
You will learn two methods to configure home drives for domain users:
Method 1: Configure a Home Drive for an Individual User
➜Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC).
➜Open the individual user's Properties.
➜Go to the Profile tab.
➜Under Home folder, select Connect and assign a drive letter (H:).
➜Enter the network path, for example: \\FS1\Home\%username%.
➜Apply the settings and have the user sign out and sign back in to access the home drive.
Method 2: Configure Home Drives for Multiple Users at Once
➜Select multiple domain users in ADUC.
➜Open their Properties and configure the Profile settings, where ➜supported by your ADUC version.
➜Assign the home drive letter and network path.
➜Apply the changes and verify that the users can access their home drives.
This tutorial is useful for IT administrators, system administrators, and anyone learning Active Directory user management in a Windows Server environment.
By the end of this video, you will understand how to configure a home folder, map an H: drive, and apply home drive settings to individual users or multiple users.
