Can someone who's already done real damage actually earn their way back?
"American History X" opens Radicalized, a new three-film series where Pete and Andy trace how people get pulled into extremist movements—and, in this one, how someone tries to find his way back out. Tony Kaye, in his feature directing debut, works from a screenplay by David McKenna. Edward Norton stars as a former skinhead trying to keep his younger brother, played by Edward Furlong, from following the same path, with Avery Brooks as the school principal caught in the middle. Pete and Andy dig into the film's color-to-black-and-white visual scheme and push back hard on how much character change its back half crams into a single day.
