See the original posting for reference of Wayne Stahnke's transformation of the original piano roll resulting in this recording, but basically they mathematically modelled Ampicos' pneumatic air-pressure mechanisms for the digital scan of the original piano roll, translating it into pristine, high resolution digital data, capable of being fed to modern-day reproducing pianos, on this case a Bösendorfer 290SE. In this process a lot of information which wouldn't be fully utilized by the typical vintage piano roll player, was perfectly preserved and brought to life with astonishing acoustic clarity.
