Devotion and Scripture: Finding Fulfillment - September 16

Today's devotion reminds us that we were designed to live in union with God. We are made more fully ourselves when we stay close to Him. Independent of God we experience emptiness and dissatisfaction. You may gain the whole world and yet lose everything that really counts. Find fulfillment through living close to Him, yielding to His purposes for you. Though He may lead you along paths that feel alien to you, trust that He knows what He is doing. If you follow Him wholeheartedly, you will discover facets of yourself that were previously hidden. In closeness to Him you are transformed more and more into the one He designed you to be. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 says: "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord".
