And for me, this one is especially personal. As a Pisces myself, I’ve spent much of my life trying to understand why I feel things so deeply, why I sometimes struggle to let go, and why I’ve always believed that humanity is capable of something greater than the world we’ve created. Pisces is traditionally associated with compassion, emotional sensitivity, intuition, imagination, creativity, spirituality, and the ability to recognize suffering that others might overlook. But I didn’t create Ocean of Light simply to celebrate those strengths. I wanted to confront our weaknesses, too. Because sometimes our compassion causes us to give too much of ourselves. Our sensitivity can turn into emotional overwhelm. Our imagination can become an escape from reality, and our desire to see the good in everyone can make us overlook the harm someone is causing. We can overthink, avoid difficult conversations, struggle to establish boundaries, and hold onto people or situations long after they’ve stopped being healthy for us. And sometimes, in trying so hard to save everyone else, we forget that we deserve peace and happiness ourselves. This song is a reminder that compassion does not mean allowing yourself to be mistreated. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring wrongdoing. And loving humanity does not mean sacrificing your own well-being. I believe our emotions can teach us empathy, our creativity can inspire solutions, and our intuition can encourage us to ask important questions. But we must also use reason, honesty, and critical thinking to understand the world around us. In astrology, Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac. I wanted to use that symbolism to bring together the lessons of all eleven signs that came before it. The courage of Aries. The loyalty of Taurus. The curiosity of Gemini. The compassion of Cancer. The confidence of Leo. The dedication of Virgo. The fairness of Libra. The resilience of Scorpio. The wisdom-seeking spirit of Sagittarius. The perseverance of Capricorn. And the humanitarian vision of Aquarius. Each sign represents something we can learn from. No sign is greater than another. No human being is worth less because they’re different. My faith in God has inspired me throughout this musical journey. I believe we have been given the ability to love, create, learn from our mistakes, forgive, and choose a better direction for our lives. I don’t believe the world becomes better through hatred, division, or convincing ourselves that we’re superior to others. I believe it begins when we recognize the humanity in one another. And that’s the message I wanted this final song to carry. To every Pisces listening: Never be ashamed of your sensitivity. Never stop creating, dreaming, loving, or believing that tomorrow can be better than today. But learn to protect your peace. Learn when to walk away. Learn to recognize the difference between intuition and fear, between forgiveness and allowing repeated harm, and between helping someone and losing yourself trying to save them. You don’t have to carry the suffering of the entire world to make a difference in it. Sometimes the greatest act of healing begins with taking care of yourself, then extending that same kindness to others. And to everyone listening, regardless of your zodiac sign, I hope these twelve songs remind you that we all have strengths worth celebrating and weaknesses we can work to overcome. Our differences don’t have to divide us. They can teach us. They can strengthen us. And they can help us build a world where future generations inherit more understanding, compassion, and hope than we were given. The Twelve Lights Within was never about twelve signs competing to be the greatest. It was about twelve different stories coming together to remind us of something we’ve known all along: We all bleed the same. We all deserve compassion.
