A missing hunter led two Forest Service rangers beyond an old ridge in West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest.
What they found on the other side was an official trail that appeared on no map.
The next mapped ridge was only two miles away.
They walked seven miles toward it.
They never reached it.
And the trail kept going.
If your GPS, your compass, and the ground beneath your boots all told you different things... which one would you trust?
