Everything you can touch is vibrating. In 1977 the engineer Itzhak Bentov set out to explain consciousness itself with the physics of sound. Episode 1 builds the toolkit the whole book depends on: vibration, standing waves and their still points, sand that sound arranges into patterns, interference, the hologram, and resonance, the way clocks on one wall, fireflies in a bush and oysters far from the sea fall into step.
