HE LEFT HIS CHURCH FOR MORE MONEY AND VANISHED | Dag Heward-Mills

A worship leader gets offered double the pay by a visiting board member - he takes it, leaves his church, and is never heard from again. Dag Heward-Mills follows it with an even sharper story: a pastor who married a rich woman, only for her to kick him out one day and tell him to take nothing but the clock on the wall, since that's all he brought into the marriage. Both stories build to the same point: relationships and callings built on money don't last. He points to Billy Graham, who preached the same simple gospel for decades and was still honored by presidents at his death, and reads Proverbs 20:28 - loyalty keeps a kingdom strong. The lesson: stay constant to what God gave you, and you'll still be standing for it twenty years from now.
