A routine pre-trial hearing quickly spirals into an unusual courtroom exchange when a self-proclaimed sovereign citizen insists on discussing an "abatement," claims to be the "beneficiary of the estate," and argues that the court must first recognize her constitutional rights before the case can proceed.
The judge repeatedly explains that her filing has no basis under the court's rules, offers her the opportunity to accept a resolution or proceed to trial, and ultimately schedules a jury trial after she refuses to move on from her arguments. As the hearing continues, the judge warns that further interruptions could result in contempt of court.
