Walking on foot inside a active tiger reserve! 🐅🌿 Welcome to Episode 02 of the Wild Kerala Expedition! In this episode, Satyam, Sameer, and I embark on the ultimate wildlife adventure: a 1-night, 2-day on-foot Periyar Tiger Trail Trek deep inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Starting from a serene morning walk near a hidden forest temple by our inspection bungalow in Thekkady, we suit up in our essential leech socks and set out with 5 local forest guides. Over a 13-kilometer trek through dense vegetation, rolling forest plains, and mountain streams, we encounter Nilgiri Langurs, wild elephants, fresh tiger territory marks, Sambar deer skulls, local tribals fishing, and ride bamboo rafts across pristine jungle lakes.
